Why can't I add anything to the sharing options after I hit the share icon in any app?

I hit the share icon in any app (sfari, chrome, espn, washington post, the athletic, etc.) and the only options I have are Messages, Mail, and SharePlay (which idek what this is) and I can't add any others either. I hit More (three dots) and Messages & Mail are listed as favorites. That's it. There is no plus sign (+) so I cannot add others. I hit edit but that only gives me the option to delete or reorder Mail & Messages. Note also that Mail is Apple Mail, which is not even my default email app. This is so unbelievably annoying! How do I fix this?

Thank you and that all makes sense. However, my issue is that until the iOS 18 update, yahoo mail, gmail, etc. all appeared on the share sheet. Plus, those apps were the only ones I used to share articles, webpages, etc., so, if based on my usage, those apps should be there (I would think). And the apple support sites (Customize sharing options in an iPhone app - Apple Support) states that there should be a plus sign (+) to allow people to add apps to the share sheet. For these reasons, I don't understand why the apps I had been using for years no longer appear in the share sheet.

Same here, since IOS 18.1.1 all the apps I had been using for years no longer appear in the share sheet. And there is NO option to add any other apps. Now limited to AirDrop, Messages, Mail, Books and that is all. No option to add other apps.
