How do I convert a Motion effect into a Final Cut Pro effect?

I want to transfer over the "Defocus" filter effect inside of Apple Motion to Apple Final Cut Pro, so I can just drag-and-drop it onto any clip in the Final Cut Pro timeline and adjust all the parameters. In other words: how do I make it into a Final Cut Pro effect available in the Final Cut Pro's Effects browser?

Does anyone have a simple step-by-step guide (preferably with pictures) to achieve this?

(And yes, I know that this effect is processing intensive - but I have a fast machine so it's alright for me to use it inside of Final Cut Pro).

The effect ("Filter") inside of Apple Motion.

All of the parameters of the effect needs to be adjustable inside of Final Cut Pro when ported over.

In Motion

File > New From Project Browser

Select Effect*

In the Project, select the Effect layer.

Add Filters > Blur > Defocus

Right click on every parameter and select Publish from the popup (or publish only those you want — you can change everything if you want to experiment.)

When you need to publish Sides and Rotation, set the Shape to Polygon — then publish those parameters, then reset back to Circle IF you want that default setting.

If you have a preference for different initial settings, go to the Project > Project > Publishing pane and make your default settings.

Save the project. Call it something like "My Defocus"...

*I recommend setting a frame rate of 60fps if you intend to keyframe/animate parameters.
