iPhone mirroring uses wrong keyboard layout

If I try to type on my iPhone via the Mirroring app on my Mac, it reacts as if I am using a Swiss keyboard layout. Pressing 'Y' produces a 'Z', the apostrophe produces an accented 'a', and so on.

I am *in* Switzerland, but none of my devices have Swiss keyboards. My Mac has a US layout keyboard, and the on-screen keyboard on my iPhone is also US layout. There's no reference I can find anywhere in the Mac or iPhone settings to a Swiss keyboard.

Any ideas?

I don't think the normal iPhone keyboard settings apply to iPhone Mirroring at all. I solved this by going to the keyboard settings on my iPhone while connected via iPhone Mirroring and then selecting the keyboard layout and type matching the keyboard on my Mac in the "Hardware Keyboard" settings.

On your iPhone, do you have only English in settings > general > keyboard > keyboards, and when you tap on
English does it say qwerty?

English and French are listed under languages (I often need to write in French). QWERTY is selected under keyboard layout.

On a whim I tried deleting and recreating the iPhone keyboard entry. Same settings: English + French, QWERTY. And now typing from my Mac via iPhone mirroring works correctly!

If I temporarily switch the iPhone to a QWERTZ layout, typing from the Mac via mirroring continues to use the Mac's QWERTY keyboard layout (which is what I would expect).

So I can't reproduce the original glitch now, but I'm glad it's gone.

There is just one entry listed, "[A] ABC". If I select it, it shows a US keyboard layout corresponding to the physical keyboard I have.

I might have a similar problem. When I type on my iPhone using iPhone Mirroring, the keyboard seems to be wrong.

You can see my setups in the Screenshots attached. When I want to type an Umlaut like "ö" (which is on the Swiss German Keyboard), my iPhone interprets this as an US layout button push and writes an "'". It might be noteworthy to mention, that my iPhone language is set to English. However, I hope that Apple was intelligent enough to ignore this setting for keyboard layout interpretation.

Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this? I already deleted the layouts and reconfigured them fresh, but nothing helped.
