CarPlay stopped working in 2023 Benz after updating to iOS 18.1.1. Phone won’t connect to car play, nor will it pair as a new phone to car. I deleted the old connection and tried to re-pair it to the car to get Apple CarPlay to work again and now it won’t even pair! Please help

Same issue… 2019 GMC Sierra… Apple Car Play reboots the radio constantly since 18.1.1…. Fix it.
Same issue…my Apple 15 pro updated to 18.1.1 and now CarPlay in my 24 Cadillac stopped working. Forgot my phone, removed from my car, renamed, powered off both and re connected. Tries for a second then disconnects. Happened to my husband and his company car as well. So many people have reported this. Apple please fix this.
I loaded 18.2 last night. CarPlay hasn’t disconnected me since. The only funny thing still is that CarPlay is running Google Maps ( and has Google Maps icon on the screen )., but I now have reliable, so far, CarPlay.

The common thread for all of these discussions is an issue with Apple’s iOS operating system. You shouldn’t have be a device contortionist to get your phone to connect. We pay a lot of money for Apple devices because we believe they are better. This is NOT better.
I’ve tried all of these suggestions, HOWEVER, I’ve discovered a new solution! I have a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Here’s how I solved the problem.
Bluetooth > Select the blue info icon next to Uconnect > Device Type > Car Stereo
It appears my device type was blank. Once I selected car stereo, boom - there was CarPlay.
2020 BMW X5 . Same issue. Apple Broke CarPlay on the 18.1.1 update. I updated to 18.2 …same issues. Incoming audio stops working after 2 or 3 minutes into a call and the only remedy is to call back..but it stops work again. Stop saying it’s the VPN settings…I have NO VPN configured. Infuriating that I am holding a $1000.00 that breaks every time there is an update. Apple, get your stuff together!!! The fix is buying an Android!
Identical problem 2021 Porsche Macan. Used to work fine. Doesn’t anymore.
Same thing happened to me on both my 2020 Prius and 2023 Sienna.
I finally got through to senior Apple Support. The solution? Turn off your VPN!
I just got off the phone with Apple… they have an open ticket -102482189702- They don’t have an ETA for the fix…I can imagine all the rentals car companies are going nuts…
For what it’s worth, my phone still connected fine with my 2013 Land Rover even after I changed the name. I did not have to re-pair.
I installed 18.2 today..same issues. Audio drops after a few minutes into call when using CarPlay.
I have no VPNs configured…still broken
