Hi All - I'm using FCP v.11 on a Macbook pro 2019 Intel 16" running Sonoma 14.7.1.
Anyone else experiencing issues with draw mask? it's not working at all. I draw a mask > connect the dots > nothing... No mask. dots won't close / connect.
Any thoughts? Is there something I'm not noticing or is this a bug?

thanks for all the responses. i deleted preferences, restarted my mac, and it worked. to answer your question, nothing happened when i used draw mask. basically i would use the pen tool to create a shape but the dots wouldn’t close and complete a circuit.
If it persists try deleting the preferences.

PIP as in "Picture in Picture"? Can you show us such an example? I'd like to test.
I am not seeing any problems with Draw Mask.
What exactly happens when you try to finish the mask?
Do you ever see the icon change from this

as you hover near the point?
And if you do and click to close the mask, then what happens, exactly?
Does the Draw Mask appear in the Inspector?
It was Picture in Picture but I can't reproduce it any more.
The first mask I drew just left the red lines on the unchanged clip and I thought the OP may have discovered a bug.
Everything was joined correctly but as it is no longer happening I reckon it must have been some random glitch.
I did a test and the mask didn't work so I deleted the mask and tried on another clip which did work.
After several tests most worked but some didn't, usually when there was a PIP on the clip.
