2023 Mac book pro M3 vs 2024 MacBook Air M3
Hello all. I am a drummer who just recently purchased a 2024 MacBook Air 13” with the 16GB 512 SSD setup. I’m completely aware that most musicians use pros for faster processing and production but because I don’t make money with this, I need to keep budget in mind. I’ve played for 27 years but have never recorded. In my mind I see my 18i20 with my MacBook on it but because of the current computer I have, I will need an external hard drive and thunderbolt dock. After the thunderbolt dock, external drive and computer I’m all in at about $1400 thanks to Black Friday. I am wondering if swapping out machines will give me what I need and a cleaner work space. I know nothing about DAWs so it’ll be garage band for now. Any advice is appreciated.
