iPhone wifi calling problem 2024

Cell service in my home is poor to none so I rely on wifi calling. Until last year I had no problem making or receiving calls via wifi calling. Now, 60% of incoming calls go directly to voicemail but never show up as a "received" call. If the caller does not leave a message, I never know that they called.

I have a Unifi wifi system with 8 access points (large house with problematic walls). I had a problem with a 14pro max, and now with a 16 pro max. My wife has a 15 pro. Other folks with Apple phones have the same problem when visiting.

My internet gets a gigabit speed when hard wired and up to 300-500 megabits on wifi. Unifi says that the wifi is definitely not a problem. AT&T says it ain't them. Apple points at AT&T. AT&T has reset the internal SIM on my phone with no effect. It seems unlikely that I am the only user having this problem yet I find no requests for help dated 2024.

This is incredibly frustrating and I would welcome any assistance. Thank you.

Do you use a VPN on your iPhone or any of the other phones having issues? If yes, don't just turn it off, delete the VPN profile completely. VPN is not needed on iPhone and is the cause of most Wifi issues with iPhones.

Thank you but I do not use VPN

I would call AT&T and elevate your issue to a higher technical support level. Whatever issue you have is some incompatibility issue with your router, especially since it is happening on multiple devices.

I have a whole house Linksys Mesh 6e network and have absolutely no Wifi connectivity or Wifi calling issues on our iPhone 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max at all. AT&T is my cellular provider, but NOT my Internet Service Provider.

As far as I know, the only thing that happened was either an iOS update or a new phone. I’ve wondered if changing to the internal Sims made a difference.

I’m not much of a Wi-Fi system person. I don’t know how to check latency. The firm that maintains the system says it isn’t the system, but I don’t know how to test do you have a suggestion?
