How to remove managed networks

This is a personal phone and not managed by anyone else. With this new password app I noticed old networks that need to be removed. Three are “managed” and cannot be forgotten. Two seem to be my cell phone provider and one is simply named “private phone”. How do I delete them? I saw a previous note that said go delete a profile under VPN&Device management but there is nothing there.

The Managed Networks provided by your cell phone carrier cannot be removed. To see which networks are from the cell provider, remove the SIM card and they will go away. You can change cell providers, but most of them will have one or more managed networks to aid in network access when cellular service is not available. For example, TMobile has a managed network called Wingman that is used for WiFi connection on participating airlines who offer the free service to TMobile subscribers. WiFi calling is also a service provided by the cell carrier that is authenticated using the profile of the managed network.

Thanks, I hadn’t thought of those uses.

Yes a previous personal phone. I have never had a business phone. It has always been a personal phone. Retired several years ago and moved 300 miles away. How do I remove these managed networks?

Did you have a company email account on the previous phone, even if it wasn’t a business phone?

you can probably fix it by restoring the newer phone to factory settings, and not restoring a backup. You can sync data to iCloud first; that way you won’t lose much data.

If one of your networks if called "PrivateMobileWiFi", it is from Verizon and you will find the exact same questions on the Verizon community forums. The only way I have heard that they could be removed is by taking out the SIM card, but if you can go to the Verizon store and ask them to remove it or the others, then that would be a first for me. In my experience, the employees at the cell stores would have no idea what you are talking about, and would come up with a half a dozen reasons why something is not their fault.

Sorry, but I have no idea how Verizon determines when the managed network is added to a phone or which phones it is added to, but I do know that specific Managed Network comes from Verizon. I also do not know if it makes a difference on whether the device is still Carrier Locked to that cell provider.

Understand you are on a public support forum that is managed by Apple, however is manned by users like yourself that volunteer their time to help fellow users. Apple does not participate here. You keep asking personal questions, I assume trying to guess how it got installed. Here is the reality, Apple needs to provide a way for them to be removed no matter how they got there. I have a person apple device with this phone number since 1993. Every upgrade is from a previous personal phone because that is how it is done. I could be carrying baggage for 30 years apparently. Apple needs to figure out how we easily remove it without losing data that is unrelated to this setting.

I understand. All the questions are about how it got there. Show me the link between how it got there and how to remove it. Does how it got there matter? If it doesn't, then stop asking those questions.

Wow. Nice way to treat people who are taking their personal time to try to help you. Of course it matters how they got there.

LOL. Verizon stores are staff have no technical skills. Verizon fired all of their field techs years ago, and now staff their stores with salespeople only.

At the end, the techs weren't even really techs. Long gone were the days when techs got certifications from the phone manufacturers and could do some bench repairs. But they were really nice people who tried very hard and got yelled at a lot.
