Does anyone know if it is still possible to take b/w photos with the new camera app on iPhone 16 with iOS 18? If so, how?
With iOS 18 and iPhone 16, Apple has replaced the camera app on iPhone with a different app. Among other things, there is no filter. Is there still a way to filter my photos, e.g., take b/w photos?
The camera and photos apps on iPhones have both been removed and replaced with a new apps (with the same names) on iPhone 16 with iOS 18.
The new photos app (where your images are stored and organized) is a nightmare -- a topic that has been discussed elsewhere. The app re-organizes your images in a way that is very disorganized and makes it hard to both catalog and find your images.
However, that topic is discussed a lot, elsewhere, on the web. Hopefully, Apple will correct those flaws in future releases of iOS. My question is about using the new camera app which replaces the original -- now retired -- app that has been part of iOS many years and is still used in iPadOS.
I notice that the new app has no filter feature, which was an important part of camera across most, if not all, versions of iOS.
Is there still a way to filter my photos when I take pictures the new camera app? I especially miss the ability to take black & white photos. iPadOS has not removed/replaced the camera app for iPad. Nevertheless, I'm afraid that Apple may be contemplating this. If they do, I hope they retain the "filter" feature.
