Sound quality strangely reverb-y

I noticed on Tik Tok yesterday that some videos had significantly worse sound quality, and then in Spotify sometimes songs would sound like the quality had suddenly tanked and taken on a weird, almost reverb-y sound to them.

That is weird, have you tried to restart your connected device to see if the issues persist? If they persist you would like to reset your AirPods

  1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, close the lid and wait 30 seconds.
  2. On an iPhone or iPad that's paired with your AirPods, go to Settings > Bluetooth:
    • If your AirPods appear in the My Devices list, tap the More Info button next to your AirPods, tap Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
    • If your AirPods don't appear in the list, continue to the next step.
  1. Open the lid of your charging case.
  2. Depending on which AirPods you have, press the setup button on the back of your case or tap the front of the case:

AirPods 1, AirPods 2, AirPods 3 or AirPods Pro

Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white. You can now reconnect your AirPods.

If the status light still doesn't flash white, learn what to do.

AirPods 4 case (all models)

  1. Double-tap the front of the case while the status light is on.
  2. Double-tap again when the status light flashes white.
  3. Double-tap a third time when the status light flashes faster. When the status light flashes amber then flashes white, you can reconnect your AirPods

If the status light still doesn't flash white, find out what to do.
