2022 iMacs do not have SMC as they are M based CPU's. Please do the following and we can look for obvious issues:

Good job. The temp that the fan speed will start to increase could be set closer to 50c, but that does not matter right now. At this point, it does not look like MacFanControl is causing the problem.

What if any other fan utilities have you installed and tried on this iMac..?

SMCFanControl, iStat menus, TG Pro, CleanMyMac, etc, etc....

Having more than one fan utility installed and then not properly un-installing that one before installing another is bad and could be causing your problem.

I see the report, first you own a 2020 27" iMac not a 2022 iMac. Please do the following:

Reset the SMC 3X back to back per the directions in Intel iMac SMC and PRAM resets

While you are at it, please reset the PRAM as well. When doing these resets please ensure the keyboard is plugged into the back of the iMac using the charging cable that it came with.

Then retest. In order to find out information about your iMac click the Apple symbol in the upper left of the display and then click About this Mac and you will find critical information about the iMac for example, the model year of the device!

Finally, I see no evidence that you are backing up the computer which is a very serious error and a 100% guarantee you will lose data!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is something you should fix ASAP by beginning to use Time Machine. If are not familiar with Time Machine please click and read Back up your Mac with Time Machine. Backing up will require an external HD which are inexpensive and easy to set up. The drive many experienced users on these forums prefer is the OWC Mercury Elite Pro due to their reasonable cost, high reliability and the quality of service from the vendor. In your case a 2 GB model would be just fine.
