Create a shortcut to close any application and, most importantly, instantly stop “ChatGPT Voice” from listening.
With the rise of voice AI like ChatGPT, more and more AIs will, once activated, listen to us continuously (and we will often forget to stop them). Therefore, the global Apple community needs to find a way to automatically stop them instantly using just our voice. This could be done by creating a shortcut or automation so that, with a simple voice command, the voice AI stops listening or shuts off automatically after one minute of inactivity.
I’ve noticed that in voice mode, the AI never shuts down properly despite commands to do so—it remains active, listening. This requires manual intervention to stop it.
Unfortunately, commands like “Quit App” or “Close App” are not available in Shortcuts. Is there any way globally to force the ChatGPT app, functioning in voice mode, to close with a shortcut? The goal is to control everything using only voice commands.
(Without using Airplane Mode for one second.)
For example, I am severely disabled, or I’m driving, and I create a shortcut to talk to ChatGPT using my voice. ChatGPT responds to me, but when I ask it to stop or close the application, it stays alert, ready to engage in conversation as soon as it detects a sound. However, I don’t want it to listen to my subsequent conversations. Since I cannot close the app manually due to my disability or because I am driving, I am looking for a way to use just my voice—via Siri or another tool—to trigger a shortcut or action that ensures ChatGPT Voice closes and no AI continues listening.
If putting the phone in Airplane Mode for 1 ms can achieve this, the ultimate goal is still to find a solution that allows this functionality without disrupting the mobile network.
