Final Cut Pro Blank Space at the end of Project

Hi, I have 3 minutes of video and audio footage in my project. For some reason, the timeline extends to 15 minutes of blank space. Any time I try to zoom in, I end up at the end of the 15 minute project and I have to scroll endlessly to get back to my actual video. How can I fix this and get rid of the blank space? Nothing online I've seen has worked so far.

My goal is to lock the zoom at around the length of the video if that’s possible.

It is not possible to lock the timeline display, but I think there will be no problem if you display it at the size you like.

There are two ways.

  1. As Luis says, use Shift+Z to display the entire image.
  2. ⌘+ or ⌘- Display in any size. *Assigned keys may differ depending on the keyboard used. Look for keys that respond.
