Adding MP3s to iPhone from MacBook with Music app

It seems to be impossible to add MP3's to my iPhone. iTunes made it so easy and with Music it seems impossible. How do I take an MP3 file from my computer and add it to my iPhone so I can play it on my iPhone?

Forgive me if a similar question has been asked and answered. I am using my MacBook Pro 16 inch 2019 macOS Sequoia 15.1.1. My iPhone is a 15 iOS 18.1.1.

I have some MP3's I want to add to my phone. In the past I would simply drag the files into iTunes and they would be there. I would plug my phone into my computer and sync the album's I wanted on my phone and voila. I had all the music I wanted right on my iTunes app in my phone. I know iTunes app is not the same now. And everything is "Music". But essentially it's the same thing right? In the past it was much easier with iTunes but now it's Music and I don't have a subscription to that (I use Spotify). Does anyone have an "easy" way to get the MP3's on my iPhone?

This is the process I have been following (that hasn't worked):

Add the albums to "Music" on my macbook.

Plug my iphone into my MacBook and try and sync them

I get this error:

and this error

The albums appear to go on my iPhone

but when I try to play them it gives me the error:

"This item is not currently available in your country or region"

I feel like this should be a 5 minute process and I've been sitting here for hours trying to get it to work. If anyone knows how to do this I would really appreciate your guidance. Thanks!

With the Music app in macOS Catalina or later content is added to your devices using Finder rather than Music itself. See Sync music between your Mac and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support for some background. While you still manually manage content via Finder syncing will selected playlists is a more efficient way to go.

Can be copied because it cannot be found happens if you delete the source files in Finder after adding them to the library, or they were on external media that isn't currently connected. Every track that you want to get copied to your device should be in your library and accessible.

The item not available verbiage appears to be some kind of mislabelled error where there is an issue such as a corrupt or incomplete transfer. Since Finder/iOS cannot recover automatically such tracks need to be removed from the device, and then added back again. You can either do this track by track, or wipe all music from the device and then reload it. Again, easier to do when syncing with a small selection of playlists.
