Random attempts to connect to Hilton Honors wi-fi

I am having the exact same problem as in the following thread, using an iPhone 12 mini: When connecting to new WiFi SSID, iPhone … - Apple Community

When a new SSID is available, my phone will suddenly and inexplicably prompt for a password for Hilton Honors, even when I am nowhere near any Hilton property. Are we any closer to an explanation of this issue?

Troubleshooting Networks Login Popups:

Successfully Deleting a Shortcut on an iPhone:

A. Close All Apps:

These Apps may be open. So, save what need be, and then close all apps. Hold you finger down as you swipe up form the bottom-left corner of your screen. Then, close all of these open apps, by sweeping up quickly for all apps. There may be a pending download.

B. Perform a Force Restart:

Try Force Restarting your iPhone. Save any information that need be. Then perform the restart. See if you can then perform this. Go Here: Force Restart iPhone - Apple Support

C. Same SSID:

Perhaps there is a network nearby that goes by the same SSID?

D. Ridding of Networks:

See if you need to remove a profile that was created: Install or Remove Configuration Profiles on iPhone - Apple Support

E. Clear the Caches:

Clear "System Data": Clear the storage named "Other". It basically contains unnecessary files such as caches that are used for system ease of use - all of which gather over time: How to Clear "System Data" in your iPhone's Storage: - User Tip. Caches would be being used for remembrance of application use.

I am at home now, so if I do that, it just reconnects to home wi-fi.

This is a really sporadic and not very disruptive problem; just perplexing and slightly irritating. Hoping someone will find this who has experienced this exact issue, Hilton Honors and all, as in the other thread I linked above (which can no longer be posted to).

Maybe the next time you're at a Hilton Honors, you can then forget the network.
