Adding shapes to photos

Is there a way to use Markup Add Shape in the photos app to circle something?

Using Shapes in Markup on Photos I'd like to draw a circle around a section of my photo, and have what's inside the circle be as exactly as the photo is. In other words, a transparent fill color, or rather NO fill. I go into Markup, click the Shapes icon, and choose the circle. But it always fills in the color set by the separate Fill Color icon. It creates an opaque, filled-in circle whereas I just want to draw the edges of a circle, a transparent circle. Thanks for any help.

The ability to add shapes (squares, circles, etc.) to photos now had a solid gray shape and not the ability to circle or box a certain area of a photo. How do I change this? 17.0.3

How do I access the markup tool for photos on my iPhone 15? I don’t have the markup tool in my photo app. When I click on the circle with the three dots nothing is there [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Sure. Choose the photo. Tap Edit, then Markup. Choose the stylus you want to use, then the color and with your finger circle what you want to circle, then tap done.
