Apple Pay payment failure on iPhone

My Apple Pay worked fine yesterday; today, trying to place an order and it says “payment failed”…..why??

Apple is not a bank. Only the bank that issued the payment method (credit or debit card) can approve or decline a transaction. Please call the bank and inquire about your account and the transaction.


If your bank does see the transaction, it was blocked by the merchant, merchant’s network, credit card processor, or Payment Network Operator (Visa, Mastercard, American Express etc.). Your bank can contact the PNO and they can track the transaction. But I’m not sure it’s worth all that.


I’d contact the bank and see what they say. Happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
