Phone cannot reset because screen passcode is wrong.

Ive been trying to reset my daughters phone and it kept saying the passcode was wrong. Eventually I realized it said screen time passcode. After much research and no clear answer, I wanted to post it so it might help someone else. When you are trying to reset your kids phone you have to go to your phone (adult account phone), which contains the parent settings/screen passcodes. I just removed the screen passcode (it ask for a phone verification). On the adult phone go to settings>screen time > select the childs phone you are trying to reset. Then once you turn off, restart the phone and begin the process of reseting the phone. The screen passcode should not come up anymore. What a nightmare.

Yep, that is the correct way to reset the phone on Family Sharing. Sorry you had to go through this, we are here to assist when needed. The method is described in the Apple Support Article on resetting the Screen Time Passcode.

If you’re using Family Sharing to manage a child’s account, the family organizer needs to reset the passcode on their device.
