MacBook Pro 13-inch 2020 M1 (A2338 ) screen problems

I have some issues with the screen of an M1-MacBook from 2020 (A2338). This is a replacement screen, after the original went dead 9 months ago and was replaced by an authorised dealer in Thailand.

This time, the issue is different - it can be seen here: https://youtu.be/zQ6FgURsxTI

The problem occurs when moving the screen, so my hope would be that we are talking about a slightly squeezed cable, or the like.

Can someone with the necessary experience advise on how to (try and) find the problem? I've disassembled MacBooks before, I have the necessary screwdrivers, etc. and I would also be happy to change the screen myself if needs be - but given the somewhat limited value of the MacBook, I'd like to explore all other options before I go down that way...

No, that cable is not the one & it is rarely ever bad except when damaged by liquid. The Display Cable is not replaceable except to replace the entire Display Assembly. The Display Cable (or rather its mylar protective cover) can be seen outside if you look closely. Look at the iFixIt guides and you will see the cable. Personally I think the design is absolutely terrible, but what do I know.

Interesting - many thanks for responding!

Just to make sure I fully understand: you think it’ll be this one that I need to replace? (Original link was removed - it was a link to the page for Item “# IF123-220-2 MacBook Pro 13" Retina (A2338, 2022) Display Cable“)

I’m asking because that looks to be a fairly fixed connection to the logic board in the middle of the MacBook and far away from the hinges. So the physical movement of the screen would still affect it?

Will certainly also google some more when I’m back at the computer…
