Find my phone tracking

My wife and I are happy to track each other’s phones using the find my phone app. If she uses my iPad Air she can get a realtime track of my movements. However, if she uses her own iPad mini she can only get a “last seen at ….” Indication. I’ve checked all of the settings. Can anyone suggest why she can’t get a realtime track on her device?

Buffering issue with Find My iPhone location tracking My son has location on for me to follow him. After a few minutes, it just starts spinning and I can’t see his location. It usually goes back on if he rests it, but it’s become an issue asking him to do that 20 times a day. How can we fix this?
