Is Apple Pay service available in Egypt?

Hi – Many Egyptian merchants are able to offer Apple Pay at transaction terminals to complete sales. However, current Egyptian regulations do not permit the use of Apple Wallet. This prevents Egyptians from adding payment methods to Apple Wallet.

Hey Akram, it’s supposed to be working no matter you’re update version I think, make sure you’re region is set to Egypt, and make sure you’re using a supported bank/card. Currently supported: CIB, National bank of Egypt, Banque Misr and most credit cards don’t work yet make sure you’re using a debit or prepaid meeza card, also telda is currently not working. It is recommended to install the latest iOS to fix any bugs.

No. This is not true. There is nothing related to iOS 18.2

ApplePay already activated from Apple servers and region “Egypt “ already open to add cards.

You can see that Apple already mentioned banks supporting Apple Pay in Egypt in App Store .

It is working partially. I added my card two hors ago. Currently is for Meeza prepaid cards for NBE & CIB & Banqe Misr

Yousef is correct. However limited banks have accepted it. HSBC Egypt being one that so far has not allowed its customers to use Apple Pay, despite it being active in other countries. If you ask them about it you will receive a generic reply.

Hi, yes it’s currently working for meeza prepaid only, central bank has accepted the service, it’s just being prepared by the banks themselves.

I think it started from today only for 3 banks and for just prepaid and debit cards only , i’m not able to add any of my credit cards till now

I’m out of Egypt currently, but my friends already completed many transactions from all three banks.

Multiple people have posted specifically about iPhone X not working. I don’t know if that’s a bug or Apple Pay in Egypt requires iOS 17 or higher.

Hi, to correct you the Egyptian Government allowed the use of mobile wallets as of Q1-2023, Furthermore 3 Egyptian banks have started the service yesterday.
