Record and transcribe a call on iPhone – Apple Support
Many US states require one or both parties to be aware that a recording is being made. This was the voice you heard at beginning and end of recorded call.
I suspect Siri was activated by accident.
Starting with iOS 18.1, users can record phone calls on iPhones using Siri,
- While on a call, tap the call recording button in the top left corner of the screen.
- Siri will notify everyone on the call that the call is being recorded.
- A note notification will appear to indicate that a new note has been created for the transcript.
- To stop recording before ending the call, tap the stop button.
- The recording and call will end when the call ends.
- A notification will appear to indicate that the call recording has been created in Notes.
- Tap the notification to open the recording or review the transcript.
