Sync'ing music to watch - Inconsistent, but always frustrating

I've created a new playlist on my MBA, sync'ed it to my iPhone 15, and have tried to sync the playlist with my AW8.

When I tap "add music", I scroll down to the list I want to sync, tap on it, a spinning circle appears, then disappears.

Why is this process SO terrible? I have plenty of storage on my watch, a great connection, etc. The inconsistancy of the process is ridiculously messed up. Apple should be embarrassed.

Any help, anyone?

I've followed these steps many times, still inconsistent. I found a work-around that has now worked without issue.

The main issue has been when trying to re-add a playlist that had been removed from my watch. I decided to change the name of the playlist, re-sync my iPhone to the music on my MBA, THEN add the renamed playlist via the Watch app, and voila....

If you subscribed to Apple Music, you can also download the playlist directly onto your watch.

Thank you. I've followed the instructions from the link you posted multiple times, nothing. I get the spinning circle, then it disappears. I do not subscribe to Apple Music.

Another update: Now it worked! Again, the inconsistency is maddening.
