When I try to delete a contact from favorites in the iPhone dialer, it deletes the contact above from favorites rather than the one I tried to delete. This happens whether I swipe left to delete or use edit and select the one I want to delete. iPhone 11 Pro, iOS Version 18.1.1.

Troubleshooting Call Deletion After an Update:
A. Report this to Apple:
Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.
B. Install iOS18.2, When Released:
Soon enough, iOS18.2 will be released. So, wait for that, and then see if it is fixed. IMPORTANT: Create a backup of your iPhone prior to and afterr installing the update. That way, you can have something to restore it from, should anything go wrong afterwards.
