If you are trying to log into a Gmail account, why are you asking about this on Apple's site? Or do you mean you are using Gmail as your account identifier Apple ID (in which case it doesn't really matter who is providing the email address and was a bit of a red herring on your part)? If that is the case, I very much doubt Apple is referring you to an Android telephone, unless this is another red herring and you mean it you happen to be using an Android phone as a trusted phone number.
Apple Account recovery will require proof that you are the account owner and that you have some way that is acceptable to Apple for proving that. Apparently you do not. Unless you can come up with something that is acceptable, you may find you just have to create a new account.
