Sorry your iPhone had a failure, but it does occur. Sometimes stuff breaks, for reasons we users can't determine. We all wish it wouldn't, but no manufacturer makes perfect products. Apple's products are at least as reliable as any other phone manufacturer.
As to your issue, if the authorized service center has diagnosed a failure of the main logic board, then you'll either need to pay to have the iPhone repaired, assuming you don't have an AppleCare+ plan on it, or you'll need to put the money toward another phone.

Sometimes things fail. it happens. The warranty is one year. You had the option to purchase AppleCare+ when you purchased the device to extend coverage.

They aren't. But the unfortunate truth is that a small electronic component can sometimes fail early in its life.
