Just tried two iPad 10 cases with magnetic auto wake covers similar to Apple official folio case but much cheaper. Both these cases cause the compass in imaps to be about 180 deg out of sync.
Does the Apple folio case cause the same effect?
Apple support wasn’t able solve this issue but did suggest a magnetic case was probably the cause even though they sell one themselves!!

Magnets of any kind, or large ferrous structures in close proximity of your iPad, can seriously affect the calibration of the iPad fluxgate compass.
