I don't think it senses movement or gestures.


To wake up your iPhone and show the clock in Standby mode after it has gone to sleep, you can:

  1. Tap the Screen: A simple tap on the screen should wake it up and display the clock.
  2. Press the Side Button: Press the side button to wake up the iPhone and show the clock in Standby mode.
  3. Lift the iPhone: If "Raise to Wake" is enabled in your settings, lifting the iPhone will wake the screen and display the Standby mode.


If the iPhone is on a tripod, move or shake the tripod a little it will wake-up the screen and display the widget that you have used on the Stand By mode.
