MacBook Detects a Display, but Shows a Black Screen

For the past two years, I have successfully been using an Anker 543 USB-C Hub with my 2021 M1 MacBook Pro to connect to my monitor via an HDMI cable. In the past two years, I have had other colleagues connect their MacBook's to my setup with varying degrees of success.

For the first year or so, I had a few Intel based MacBooks attempt to connect, which is when I first noticed the issue. They connect their laptop, then within 10 minutes the monitor screen goes black. If I check Display Settings, the monitor detects the monitor perfectly fine, but it does not receive an output. Important to note that the monitor stays on and appears to be detecting that a device is connected. I mostly chalked the issue up to be that the laptops were intel based and not Apple Silicon.

That was until a few months ago, when my colleague with an M2 MacBook Pro attempted to use my setup. The exact same issue cropped up; their laptop connected to the screen for about 5 minutes, then blank, no picture.

That brings me to today, where my M1 MacBook Pro began exhibiting the exact same behavior. I have already tried an exact replacement of the USB-C hub, this did not fix the issue. What has worked is plugging the HDMI cable directly into my MacBook, rather than through the Hub. When connected this way, I do not have an issue. I am also able to have a stable connection with a USB-C (DP) to HDMI adapter, from StarTech.
