I am running iOs 18.1.1
iPhone 13 Pro
I set up Vocal Shortcut (in Accessibility) to run a Shortcut i have set up in the Shortcuts app.
I follow the procedure to "train" the vocal shortcut.
When I say "Hey Siri" (she responds), I speak the shortcut..
... but Siri just responds with generic web search related to the words I said.
What is going on?

If I understand vocal shortcuts correctly you do not have to say Hey Siri before you say the phrase or sound.
Try that and see if it works.
I cannot get that to work. I tried having iPhone locked, unlocked, do not disturb off/on, Shortcuts app open, iPhone does not respond to me saying the phrase I set up in Accessibility->Vocal Shortcuts :-/
UPDATE: that DID, however, work for one of the pre-installed iPhone shortcuts! (Text last image)
UPDATE 2: Ok I got my custom shortcut to work (only when iPhone is unlocked)... maybe it needed to get warmed-up with the pre-installed one??
I too am having trouble getting these to work on iPhone 16 with latest iOS release 18.2. Looks like there is an issue somewhere. I will keep trying and see if I can get anywhere. Maybe a question for the Apple Accessibility Helpdesk.
