Updated iPad and can open all apps, with the exception of Apple News. Have restarted but page will not load.Think I have no choice but to cancel subscription. Bit ironic that an Apple upgrade has caused this problem . Any suggestions?
I seem to have fixed this by deleting Apple News and reinstalling it. It's working now. I did have to wait a while though. After relaunching it following reinstall it sat on the "Welcome to Apple News" logo for 2-3 minutes before finally allowing me to proceed and set up. But once that happened it's been fine. 🤷♂️

I tried the same thing . Still won’t load. I did open a case, hopefully they will have another update soon to fix this issue. I too have a gen 7.
Cancel what I said above. It stopped working last night. Tried the same fix. Did not work.
I do not have any subscriptions. I have this problem.

Yes I have similar problem of not loading news on iPad 7. It was working fine on 18.1.1 but not on 18.2. I do NOT have news subscription.

I just updated to iPadOS 18.2.1 and sadly it has not fixed this News not loading problem. Very disappointing. 😡

I think that all of us who lost use of Apple News -- about two months for me -- should demand that Apple refund the subscription fee for at least two months.
