How to select all emails in the iOS 18.2 Mail app?

I can't see any good way to select all emails in the iOS 18.2 Mail app. I think you can do it by scrolling down with two fingers, but that's a pain when you have hundreds of emails. In the older versions of Mail I would normally Select All then Mark as Read which made it easy to see where I left off the last time.

Am I missing something?

TIA

Heres a future reference for those who haven’t figured it out,

If you have the mail categories turned on, go all the way to the category on the right, to the All Mail "category"(which can be done by swiping right) . Then "Select All" will show up in the top-left when you choose "Select". If you are within Primary or any of the other categories, there is no Select All button.

I'm on 18.3.2 and have the issue where I can Not Select all the emails so I can Delete them like from Junk or Trash or Inbox.

I have the the "Settings / Display / Brightness / Text Size" set with the text size TOO large.

This tops you from swiping the Icons under the "Search Box" to the Left and seeing the Icons like:

"ALL Mail". If you try and Swipe to the Left you can Not get to the far Right since the Text Size was NOT taken into consideration when this feature was codded.

I changed my "Text Size" smaller until, in Mail when I swipe to the Left I could see the Icon "ALL Mail".

Then at the upper Left of the screen I could see the "Select ALL" Button.

I clicked the "Select ALL" Button and ALL the emails in the list are selected.

Then I just clicked on "Mark" Button on the Bottom and all the emails are selected then I click the Move to trash then Do the whole process over to get rid of the emails in the Trash Folder.

Do you know how to contact the Moderator to move a solution/work around to the First Item to the TO of replies?

Yes, the "Select All" option will indeed appear in the new Mail app in iOS 18.1 and 18.2. However, there's a small detail to keep in mind that might affect you if you use multiple email addresses simultaneously. To access the "Select All" feature, you must first navigate back and select a specific email address before opening the "All Mail" section. The Mail app will not mark all emails as read if multiple mailboxes are selected. This limitation is important to note for efficient email management.

I had the same issue and changing:

Settings / Display & Brightness / Text Size

an reducing the Size of the Text SMALLER

I could finally select ALL of the email messages.

Then perform stuff on ALL of them at once

like Marking as Read, Moving to Trash, deleting ALL of them.

Give it a try and let me know if it Works around your issue.

If so then we can try and get Apple to fix the issue once they

understand what is causing the issue.

You will Not see the issue if the "Text Size" is small enough.

Having the display screen have larger icons may cause this issue also.

It is there , but the control has changed . At your mail box , on the top across you can see Primary plus three other icons( transactions , updates & promotions ) . Scroll to the left and it will reveal one more after the last icon which is All Mail . Tap on All Mail , then tap Select . The Select All will appear on the left upper . Click Select all and all will be selected .

I also have this question. It appears that it is not possible. Why Apple? Please fix this. If I do a search for all emails from a certain sender … Then please give me a select all feature to mass delete All emails from that search result. I realize that it may include email from multiple senders that got snagged up in that search. But hey, that’s less destructive than master deleting all emails from all senders to clean things up.

Thanks, but I think there is still an issue. When you “select all”, if there are any already-opened and read emails in your box, the option it gives you for all of them is to “Mark as Unread” whereas it used to be completely the other way around. If you had any unread emails the default option was always to “Mark as Read” to easily clear your whole inbox. Maybe they will update this too?
