Alternating Row color misses row 8

When I use the feature on any NUMBERS spreadsheet.. Alternating Row Color... alternating rows become filled either with the silver gray or alternatively non-filled therefore white. The issue is the format always missed row number 8 in every spreadsheet of every workbook of every file where I choose that option.. I end up filling that row manually except if I insert a row the whole spreadsheet gets messed up in alternating rows.

You said that copy/pasting fixed row 8, are you now saying that other rows did not get fixed? I'm not really sure what you were copy/pasting. "Spreadsheet" is not a Numbers word. It might mean the entire document, a sheet (tables, shapes, and all), a single table, or just the data from a single table.

It could be some glitch in Numbers. I cannot think of a reason for it to be doing what it is doing other than what I mentioned before.

Can you post a screenshot that looks like this one of one of the problematic row 8 tables with cell B8 selected (or any of the data cells in the row, just not a header cell) and the sidebar open to show the cell color? I am assuming you have an even number of header rows (not just the default single header row) because you said row 8 is supposed to be one of the colored rows.

It sounds like what would happen if the table started out with row 8 having a specified cell color, not the default of "none". Try setting the body cells (not header cell) of row 8 to "no fill" and see if that clears it up. If that works then my question is which template are you using for new documents?

I am at a loss. I cannot reproduce it here. I am assuming it is a bug. I was hoping to figure out an easy way to fix your table to get around whatever caused it but without being able to reproduce the problem I have no idea what can be done to fix it or what the best way would be without requiring a lot of re-formatting.

Your table is a little bit Excel-like in its layout. Did it start out in Excel?

YES, Thank you for your suggestion. I tried everything like no fill, and changing the default color from "Mercury" to orange, or blue or any other color. Still row 8 on every tab and every worksheet. The template I use is basic. I must admit, I just opened a BLANK... of the template below and the alternating colors rows seems to be OK.

I am going to try copy>paste of one sheet in my workbook, to a new blank, and see if it imports the format error.

After trying the exercise above the error format was not repeated in the Copy>Paste spreadsheet... In summary, I have this error in all my yearly workbooks. Each page shows my expenses and receipts for a month, carrying over balances and summarizing the 12 months on another worksheet in the work book... each page will also compare up to 15 years of history broken down the same way... all with imported logos and labels... to complex to re-do on another workbook, so I really want to fix 2024 workbook so all my future years will also be fixed.
