Where can I find the hearing test option for AirPods Pro 2

Just purchased AirPods Pro 2 and wanted to try hearing aid test. iPhone has been updated to iOS 18 but when I go to the AirPods menu, there is no option to take hearing test. Is this not available yet? If so, where can I find that option.

Re: AirPods Pro 2: there is no option to take hearing test. Is this not available yet?

You may need to check whether or not the test has been approved and made available in your country or region:

You can check if your country is listed for:

Hearing Test feature

Hearing Aid feature

Hearing Protection feature (This feature is only available in USA and Canada)

See: AirPods Pro 2 - Hearing Health Feature Availability - Apple

Also: The AirPods Pro 2 need to have the latest firmware installed: you can check if they need updating:

See: About firmware updates for AirPods - Apple Support

The iPhone needs the latest iOS 18 version installed: About iOS 18 Updates - Apple Support says iOS 18.2

(NB: Is always wise to back-up data before updating)

All the best :-)

Can you confirm which country you live in?

They are not available to be used in the UK or Canada yet BUT if you have an Apple iPad or an old iPhone running an older IOS than 18.1 you can get them working and they work very well. If you haven't updated your iPhone to 18.1 or newer yet you can set them up wit your existing iPhone.

You just set them up in a different way via Settings/Accessibility/Audio and video/Headphone accommodations.

I have been using them on an older IOS since September (17.7.1) but they have been available to use as hearing aids since the AirPod Pro 2s were launched in September 2022. IOS 18.1 stops them working in the UK and Canada with the geographical lock. I used the Mimi hearing test app from the app store for my hearing test.
