iPhone 16 Pro Max display glitch

Hello everyone, I bought new brand iPhone 16 Pro max last week and I am noticing a problem with the display. When I activate it with always on display on, at the moment I unlock it, small vertical lines appear mostly at the bottom of the screen, sometimes even in the middle and it lasts for a split second, sometimes they also appear while I open an app. These lines are not big but really thin and last a blink of an eye. Version 18.2 updated and it persists. Does anyone else have this problem? Could it be a software bug? I hope it won’t hardware problem😭

I really think it’s a sim-related bug.

Since I inserted a new eSIM into my iPhone (in my case, Vodafone Italy), I started experiencing random vertical lines at the bottom of the screen. This often happens when I wake up the phone or use apps like Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram. If I disable mobile data, the glitch disappears. iOS 18.4 hasn’t fixed the issue yet.

I have an issue with the animation, small stutters occur randomly on the home screen of the phone. I've done two hardware diagnostics, everything is fine, I performed a restore via iTunes, restarted the device, and did everything with the help of Apple Support.

Obviously, the problem specifically occurred more often from the widgets to the apps and from the library to the apps. I deleted all the widgets, and it didn't happen again, but I didn't buy the 16PM to miss out on all the features.

I replaced my iPhone 16 Pro Max 256 gb 2 days ago on the absolutely same new phone but in another color.

Now I see the problem again. It’s insane. I spent too much money and nerves…

Is this software issue? Why apple doesn’t fix it more than 6 months? I even tried to flash my phone in DFU mode and setup it without my account and data. Doesn’t matter. I see the problem.

If it’s hardware issue, all 16 pro max model is just broken and they can’t fix it. Like it was with bendy iPhone 6.

So… what should we do? I can’t sell it like new, because my phone has defects from the box.

For me the wallpaper doesn’t have anything do with it. I change mine fairly often and the problem persists. Screen glitches will occur during transitions or general use of any app.

I also noticed that refresh rate sometimes is on 60hz and not on 120hz as it should be.it happens while scrolling same pages in safari or YouTube and when I am on the widget page and I switch to main page the animation is a little jerky not smooth.

Do u have these problems too?

Update:

I have updated iOS 18.2.1

Smoother animations, more responsive with app opening and much snappier.

Unfortunately, the flicker problem on the display with always on display persists.

As I said in one of my previous replies, I think it is a bug software but not hardware. So I hope Apple will fix it with iOS 18.2.1 or 18.3

I didn't fix it cause it is a software bug. I HOPE IT WILL BE SOLVED WITH IOS 18.2.1 or 18.3

me too. I have both problems. I want to change my phone but I worried same problems will happen again.
