In the US and most other countries, an fixed-term plan for the iPad covers two years total, the standard one-year warranty and then an extra year. You can renew after that, in most cases, or you can at the time you purchase the iPad opt for a monthly plan which will last until you cancel or Apple ceases support for that model of iPad.
