2024 Macbook Air M3 and fingerprint reader

My wife is using this unit for about 1 month, max, and the fingerprint reader doesn't. Thoughts? Advice?

MacBook Air fingerprint reader has to be reprogrammed every day I have a 2020 M1 MacBook Air. Every day or 2 I have to reprogram my fingerprint for the reader. My software is up to date. My finger and the scanner are clean. If I program a fingerprint today, it will work all day, but tomorrow it won't read it. I can reprogram it and it will for that day then not the next day. I've had this problem for about a year. I have the same problem if I start in safe mode.

Seeking help with Biometrics, Touch ID I have a MacBk Air M1 that I use with the cover closed in an upright stand. That leaves the fingerprint reader unavailable. Is it possible to attach a fingerprint reader that would act as the power button on the MacBk does?Can you or anyone recommend a good reader that would plug into a dock via a type \"C\" cable. If this is not possible how can I use Face ID in the same situation?

Refer to Use Touch ID on Mac - Apple Support.

If necessary scroll down to "If you have problems with Touch ID."

Don't press too hard or it won't work. If she is still having trouble contact Apple: Official Apple Support
