How can I transfer Apple Music songs to my iPod Classic?

Hi, I have a fully wiped iPod classic 5th generation, and I’m trying to load music onto it from my windows 10 computer. I tried iTunes and it just froze and I needed to use task manager to close it, and Apple devices said I didn’t have the software to connect to iPods. Any advice on how I could get my Apple Music library onto this iPod?

We need to be clear what you mean by "Apple Music".

This is because Apple Music can be the app on your Windows computer (along with Apple Devices) or it can mean the subscription service that gives you access to Apple's vast music library. Not only that, but if you are using the term when you mean music that you have added to your library from CDs or MP3 purchases (from the iTunes Store, Amazon etc.), that is not "Apple Music". Instead, it is your music library (or purchased music).

To begin with, music from Apple's Apple Music subscription service cannot be added to an iPod Classic.

If you are referring to music you already have download on say iTunes you could use either a third-party app to sync the music on your laptop or PC to your iPod Classic or review your iTunes music and check whether you actually have downloaded music that can be transferred to your iPod.

As stated by the fiend, music from your purchased Apple Music subscription (if you have one) cannot be transferred to your iPod Classic.
