How/why is phone recording coming back on after turning it off after latest updated 18.2..? The icon faint badge to the left is present and also the red/orange dot top right stays on. I have triple checked the settings and have looked for answers wi

I'm unsure what to do here? I have tried resetting all settings re-start phone and still the same? I have read about similar issues years ago but I wasn't even aware of this feature then? I have gone into the app list in settings, selected phone and turned call recording off. It has randomly come back on (all calls)

with the setting still turned off? This is just since the newest update a few weeks ago.

If you are placing a phone, the microphone has to be active, thus the orange indicator will be lit. The other icon allows you to record the phone call, if you wish.

Making a phone call which will require keypad access l, so I notice it as I'm waiting for the call to go throughout. It stays on as it would when I have the setting on, & don't want it on. I am now more aware of many settings that cannot be turned off and is very frustrating.

Like I mentionedzz after turning off the setting, weeks ago I could have swore that faint icon was off.? It does fade/and turn off seconds later and maybe haven't noticed that?? Thanks for your help.
