Zoom and necessity of background items

Are the items that the Zoom app runs in the background necessary? My MacBook Pro's message states that I can manage these item in "Login items Settings". I located these items, which can run when the app is not open. I see that Microsoft also has background items checked in the same category of "Login items Settings".

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 13.7

No one other than the Zoom developers can answer that. You can certainly turn those login items off if you want. But there is no guarantee that the software will continue to work properly afterwards. Also, there is no guarantee that the software will not be able to re-enable those items itself the next time you run it manually.
