Siri doesn't understand me

A couple things to note is that Siri learns you voice more accurately the more you use the service.

You can go through the setup procedure again repeat the 5 phrases. Please fithis path,

iPhone > Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri > Talk & Type to Siri > turn off momentarily and then turn back on. This will prompt the setup and you’ll be guided through repeating 3 phrases.

If you have a regional accent or dialect Siri may not be able to understand your spoken commands. My wife is from southern Kentucky in the US and Siri has a difficult time understanding her distinct southern accent. She writes to Siri.

Try this:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap Apple Intelligence & Siri > Talk & Type to Siri, or Siri > Talk & Type to Siri.
3. Turn off Listen for "Siri" or "Hey Siri," then turn it back on.
4. When the Siri setup screen appears, tap Continue.
5. Say each command that you see on your screen.
6. Tap Done.

Perhaps that will help. If not, someone else here may have additional suggestions.

I have a very UK accent with slight Scottish bent (English

reckon I’m Scottish, Scots think I’m English!!) but what doesn’t stack up is

that SIRI on my previous iPhone had relatively few issues so I’d exclude

accents or my voice. What I have noticed that the same word often is understand

& not understood. Ps I use English and Italian and did so in my previous iPhone

Hi I've tried the suggested procedure below but it does not change. Siri seems to mistake both consonants and vowels

Try upgreading to iOS 18.2 that was released more than a week ago.

As stated before, it seems that repeatedly retraining SIRI

has no effect. it still mistakes vowels and consonants and I repeat was not the

case with my previous iPhone. To me it seems SIRI on Iphone 15 iOS 18,11 is not fit for purpose.
