MacBook Air display settings missing for external monitor

For some unknown reason my MacBook Air now will not let me move screens to an external monitor I have. It worked yesterday, today it is not working. I go to Apple community help desk and it tells me to go to Displays and the go to Display Settings. Of course there is no Display settings to view.

Connect macbook to outside monitor My macbook screen has been broken so I need to connect to the monitor but when I connect it shows only the screen I can open the setting, Finder but when I try to open the program It did not show up. I do not know why. If anyone knows how to fix it. Please help. Thank you

MacBook not detecting 3rd party Monitor for extended display I have recently connected to a 3rd party monitor and I have connected it but when I try to extended it I cant find it in displays the monitor doesn't even pop up there after trying the detect monitors function. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Go to settings > Displays. The display settings are then shown on the panel to the right.
