iPad screen protector somewhere in between matte and glass?

So I've had the paperlike screen protector on my iPad for a year now, and I generally like writing with it, with one exception. When I lift the pencil off the screen, sometimes it keeps writing for just a sec after I lift it. I wonder if this is a result of the screen guard compressing, and then returning back to its normal state a tiny bit after I lift the pencil?

I don't have much experience writing on the screen without a screen guard or with a thin tempered glass screen guard, so I don't know if the paperlike is causing this behavior or not.

The other thing I don't love is the slight dulling of the lovely iPad pro display.

Is there a screen guard out there that lives somewhere in between the paperlike and a regular tempered glass screen guard? Maybe just a little bit matte and a touch of drag on the pencil tip compared to a naked screen?

Thanks

Geoff

Perhaps the Zagg "Fusion Canvas" product will meet your need:

While I have used Zagg laminated glass screen protectors for many years, I have no experience of Zagg's Fusion product line.

Be aware that any textured surface will unavoidably slightly reduce clarity/sharpness and contrast of the screen image - this also being true of Apple's latest nano-texture glass that is optionally available with recent models of the iPad Pro M4. Smooth glass surfaces will always offer the sharpest image - but with the potential penalty of increased screen reflectivity.
