Apple TV app on TV

Some modern models Samsung TV get the full Apple TV app, with Store and Library.

Slightly older models Samsung TV get the specialized (but somewhat limited) Apple TV+ app, without Store and Library.

That is what Samsung and Apple agreed on.

Unsupported TVs may consider connecting an external streaming device that supports the full Apple TV app. That can be an Apple TV box, Roku, Fire TV, PlayStation (4, 5), Xbox (One, One S, X, S), ‘Chromecast with Google TV’-dongle, or Nvidia Shield TV box.

Have you pressed the left arrow on your remote or the up arrow to Home?

(May be different on Samsung than my TV)

This is specifically an issue for select models TV from Samsung and LG, and select third party streaming devices, such as external cable or satellite boxes that support apps (and the “Apple TV+ app” in particular). What these have in common, is the “+” in the app name, and also on the app tile artwork.

The Apple TV box doesn’t have this issue, with any version tvOS.

Hi thanks for your reply. This issue is specifically an issue with the apple tv and tvos 18.2 and not on any other TV system.
