Shortcut app used to make shortcut to use Python Launcher to run .py file..... but nothing happens?

The .py file will run/open if I open folder and double click, but I'd like to just have a button/shortcut and another open window.

I am still on Montery (MiniMac on it's way)

It may help if you restate the request since I don't quite understand what you are asking here.

I also do not understand what the screenshot here is supposed to show me....it is actually confusing me. Is the "Open Plot_3D_ver1-3-workingV2.py" supposed to be part of the Plot app or part of something else (or perhaps both)?

Is it supposed to be a plug-in or extension for the Plot app?

From where do you want to launch your Python script?

I'm not sure I will be of any help anyway, but having more information & details will probably help in getting someone to respond with some suggestions.

So you are able to double-click your Python script to launch it if you have its parent folder open? Why not just create an Alias and placing the Alias where you want it. The simple way to create an Alias is just by holding Command + Option while dragging & dropping your Python script (you will see the icon change to a bent arrow to indicate an Alia is being created).

I only have the XCode Tools version of Python3 installed so I don't know how the Python launcher with the full official Python3 installation works.

I don't think the Shortcuts app is meant to launch an app.

Let me start over.

I cannot get a shortcut to open the .py file, and I am not sure what else to try.

I have been trying to make a desktop shortcut to run the python script, rather than open the folder, and and then open the python script. Although this doesn't seem like much of a timesaver, it would be helpful.

I am using Python version 3 the script is a 3D scatter plot I run using the Python Launcher 3. I have been unable to make the shortcut work. The Python Launcher.app is in my dock. I have file info for the python script to open using Launcher3.

The screen shot was just to show what is in the shortcut.
