YouTube videos will not play on my iPad since updating to iPad OS 17.7.3

My iPad is 6th gen, just updated to iPadOS 17.7.3 yesterday, has of 69 GBs of available storage. Every since the update, YouTube videos will not play, either in the YT app or via Safari. Once I click on any video thumbnail, I get the spinning wheel, like it's buffering. I even let it run in this state for 3 hours and a video never started playing. This happens whether the video is set to launch immediately or an ad is set to run first, same with shorts or regular long form video. Here are the steps I've taken thus far:

restart iPad (multiple times)

reset iPad settings

Delete and reinstall YouTube app

Delete YT app and attempt video play in Safari

Delete browsing history in Safari

Removed all websites from storing data for tracking purposes

Reset router

This began the day I updated the OS to the current 17.7.3 so it seems clear to me that it's an issue with the OS (had no trouble before the udpate). I have other Apple devices (apple TV and MacBook) for which YouTube works fine. Just the iPad, so it's clearly not a YT service issue either. Other video sources (Instagram Reels, Tik Tok) work fine as well.

Anyone else experiencing this? This is somewhat catastrophic for me as the iPad is 50% used for YouTube video. Any suggestions beyond "update the app" "update the OS" "restart the iPad" all of which have been done to no avail.

Thank you

iPad, iPadOS 17

Sorry for going missing on this one, Christmas was a bit hectic! I did finally fix this by doing a hard reset (apparently also known as a force restart), depress home button and the top button simultaneously until the Apple logo appeared. Previously, I though I'd done a reset by going throuh the settings menu and selecting reset settings but this "hard reset" must have done something else/more, it's working now. Maybe it was corrupted cache/settings as suggested below? Anyway, for other having this issue, hope this works.

Same issue with me after updating IOS for my wife 6th get and trying the suggestions above. None of them fixed it for me. A strange issue is that it works when connecting to internet through iPhone Hotspot! But not to home Wifi network. I've tried turning off private WiFi, applied 'forget this network' and reconnected to Wifi network etc. Rebooted router.

My own 6th gen iPad with both the same iPad OS version does not have this issue. Strange indeed. I'm a very technical person and I'm stumped on this one.

I am having the same problem worked fine before the update now YouTube will not play videos anywhere same iPad and everything maybe they just shut down YouTube for the 6th gen iPad users is what I’m guessing forcing us to buy new pretty much! If anyone finds a fix lmk or I’ll just believe it’s another day in the life of Apple controlling the market for people that take care of their devices and forcing money out of our pockets will be my last Apple product if they can not fix the issue soon!
