Safety of sharing iPhone serial number with Apple customer care

As I said today I called apple customer care number regarding the issue so they said me to tell my phone serial number is that safe to share or not because previously my android phone was hacked so I shifted to ios for security please reply I am worried

not sure what power you believe the serial number of an ios device have, but you can't track it using the serial you can't get access to it over a network using the serial number you unlike the IMEI number can't use the serial to have carriers block the ios device from access to cellular networks
