it doesn’t show how many emails. i missed tons of important emails on the first day. plus emails i sent out were hidden to others. My emails went into their promotion folder.

Yep! Problem solved. The solution has been provided many times, yet instead of reading to find the answer, some think that posting the same question is the answer. Once again you have provided the correct solution.
I have the same issue. Several emails are not displaying at all in mail, they don’t appear in any of the categories listed, yet when I search them they appear. mail is broken!😞
I HATE it too - it's awful and not something I want ! Please change it back Apple !!!!!
There are 8 pages in this thread, and instructions on how to reset the mail app to the way it was previously are on every page, so you can just read the thread to learn how to do that.
