iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) screen is black

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) bought as refurbished from what seemed like a reputable vendor on ebay. 98.4% Positive, thousands of reviews. Shipped without a power cord. Using the power cord from a 2019-era iMac 27" Retina 5K. Anyone ever heard of a power cord incompatibility issue?

In any event... On start-up, I hear the Apple chime, then nothing. Black screen. Tried again, Reset NVRAM and heard a second Apple Chime. Never saw the Apple Logo, screen is still black. Also, no noise whatsoever from hard drive or fans. Just a black screen.

Open to any and all suggestions, thank you.

Return it for a refund. Moving forward NEVER EVER buy a used Mac from:

Ebay
Marketplace (Facebook)
Nextdoor
Craigslist
Local PC shop
friend, neighbor or relative

Why, because you never ever know what you are buying. If you cannot afford a new Mac then buy an Apple refurbished iMac directly from Apple's on-line Refurbished store which you can find at www.apple.com. If that is still too expensive then purchase from a reputable reseller such as macsales.com.
