FCPX library rebuild failure on Crucial Drive in Mac Studio
editing on a Mac Studio that is maybe 2 years old. For no known reason the drive would not mount the other day. Worked on the library the day before and all was fine. there is no know reason that I can attest to for it not mounting. Called crucial and they sent me thru all the options of trying a new cable (s) another Mac (tried on all 4 that I own) and even on a pc. Would not show files on PC but it stated it was a healthy and intact drive.
With crucial on the phone we downloaded a firmware update that could have potentially fixed it but did not. I then was asked to do a power cycle and let it sit for 8-10 hours and to allow some built in ability to sense that it needs mounted would occur. after sitting all night still nothing will boot up or mount.
I then tried Disk drill. I can see all the files and the videos play one by one. all normal structures seem intact but when you hit recover it copies all these files to one folder. THE BIG QUESTION: How do they get back into a library purple icon file? is that something I have to do? can I restructure some way or rebuild? No answer back from Disk drill yet.
Another odd thing is the LIBRARY FILE that appears inside of disk drill when right clicking on it again all files look appropriately but when I copy and paste to a new drive it fails at 75% or so and I get an error (see pic)
(There is no other file with the same name. No idea what that means. The drive I am copying to is not that old (a month old maybe)
Any advice to recover or restructure this?
Thank You!
